Gary Walsh has considerable experience working in the farm machinery sector, both at manufacturer and dealer level. After leaving school, he embarked on a career as a service technician following completion of a four-year apprenticeship in Ireland.
After spending some time as a service technician and developing his knowledge to how a workshop and agricultural dealership ran, Gary decided to move into a service management role and forward his career before joining his current employer Kubota (UK).
He has been with Kubota (UK) for the last nine years, where his previous roles included that of regional service representative across all Kubota’s business units, (Agriculture, Groundcare, Construction & Engine’s) and latterly spending two years as a aftersales dealer manager, here he aided dealer service manager’s by advising on the key performance indicators of their aftersales function and driving its profitability before recently been promoted to the position of agricultural and groundcare sales manager for Ireland.
“I’m delighted to be able to step-up and take on the role of agricultural and groundcare sales manager for Ireland,” explains Gary. “This is a great opportunity to work much more closely with our dealer partners, to support them as they grow their businesses and profitability by introducing the Kubota brand to a wider audience.”
Gary is passionate about farming and machinery and comes from a background that introduced him to machinery at an early age. Two of his uncles ran contracting businesses, and after leaving school, much of his spare time was spent either repairing or operating equipment. It was an experience that cemented his decision to remain involved within the machinery sector.
We are pleased to welcome Gary as a new council member. His wealth of experience in the farm machinery industry, combined with his deep understanding of dealer operations and aftersales management, makes him a valuable addition to the team.
