The Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) is the representative body of the farm machinery industry in Ireland. We represent hundreds of members across the Island of Ireland. Our members include: Global manufacturers of farm machinery, indigenous Irish farm machinery manufacturers, farm machinery dealerships, Irish owned importers & distributors of farm machinery and companies involved in the importation, distribution and sale of components & parts.

Due to the continued growth in demand for our services, a position has arisen for a suitably qualified person to join our team. The successful candidate will have a diverse role working on range of projects that help us better serve our members interests.

This is a unique and varied opportunity for an exceptional, all-round candidate who is open to working on challenging projects across multiple sectors in the farm machinery and agribusiness sector. The role will involve working closely with our Executive Director, Executive council and various sub committees to deliver and support a diverse range of projects, in particular education, regulation, communication and farm machinery events, with tasks including primary/secondary research, stakeholder consultation and report writing.

Candidates must have a solid understanding of and a keen interest in farm machinery and agribusiness. Relevant experience working in a relationship management role or the farm machinery sector would be a distinct advantage.

The successful appointee will be a high-performing individual with a professional and commercial approach, a strong analytical mind and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They must have strong MS office and report writing skills. Importantly, they will be self-starters who can manage their time effectively while contributing to various aspects of the day to day running of the association. A relevant qualification at graduate or postgraduate level in agriculture, agricultural mechanisation, engineering, economics, marketing, business or a related area would also be an advantage.

Tasks & Duties:

 

  • Working closely with the Executive Director, the Membership Relations Officer will assist with and enhance the overall business functions of the associatio
  • You will assist in planning, organising and executing specialist machinery exhibitions and associated events.
  • Ensure the association is represented with the highest level of professionalism by providing accurate information and advice to our member firms to support them in their businesses.
  • Keep abreast of latest legislative changes relating to the industry and disseminate this information to the membership base.
  • Assist in producing the associations monthly news letter
  • Routinely visit existing members and prospective new members.
  • You will also be responsible for the maintenance of our communication channels including website, print media and social media. Use of social media to promote the FTMTA and our activities is a must in this role.
  • Prepare surveys and disseminate their findings to the membership.
  • Various other duties that may arise from time to time

 

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Good knowledge and awareness of the agricultural sector and a strong awareness of agricultural machinery industry.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Driven and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently and under the guidance of the association’s executive director.
  • A self-starters who can manage their time effectively while contributing to various aspects of the day to day running of the association
  • At least 3 years working in a related role,
  • Full clean driving licence and own car is essential.
  • Strong MS office and report writing skills.
  • Previous experience in a relationship management role
  • A relevant qualification at graduate or postgraduate level in agriculture, agricultural mechanisation, engineering, economics, marketing, business or a related area would also be an advantage.

Position:

Apprenticeship: Manufacturing Engineering L7

Location:

Description:

On completion of this three year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified manufacturing engineer, with a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering.

You may then choose to work as a manufacturing engineer in the manufacturing industry across sectors such as Pharma, Med-tech, engineering and food.

Apprenticeship: Construction Plant Fitting L6

Location:

Description:

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified construction plant fitter, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Construction Plant Fitting.

You may then choose to either work as a construction plant fitter in the construction and engineering industries.

Many apprentices use their apprenticeship qualification as a platform to launch careers such as engineers, managers, self-employed business owners, technical trainers, instructors, lecturers, teachers amongst others.

Position:

Apprenticeship: Heavy Vehicle Mechanics L6

Location:

Description:

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified heavy vehicle mechanic, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.

You may then choose to work as a heavy vehicle mechanic in road haulage companies in the commercial motor industry.

Many apprentices use their apprenticeship qualification as a platform to launch careers such as engineers, managers, owners of businesses, teachers and instructors amongst others.

Position:

Apprenticeship: Vehicle Body Repairs L6

Location:

Description:

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified vehicle body repairer, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Vehicle Body Repairs.

You may then choose to work as a vehicle body repairer in the motor industry, in garages with vehicle repair facilities and in ‘specialised’ repair shops.

Many apprentices use their apprenticeship qualification as a platform to launch careers such as engineers, managers, self-employed business owners, technical trainers, instructors, lecturers, teachers and more.

Position:

Apprenticeship: Logistics Associate L6

Location:

Description:

On completion of this two-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified logistics associate, with a QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Logistics. You may then choose to work in a number of roles including as a logistician, freight forwarder, distribution manager, inventory manager, process engineer, supply chain manager, shipping agent, transport manager or warehouse manager.

Logistic associates are required in a range of industries from freight, distribution, haulage, warehousing and shipping.

Apprenticeship: Agricultural Mechanics L6

Location:

Description:

Have a passion for machinery, interested in agriculture and love problem-solving? Then a career as an agricultural mechanic could be for you.

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified agricultural mechanic, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Agricultural Mechanics.

You may then choose to either work as an agricultural mechanic in an agricultural machinery garage, an agricultural machinery contractor, start your own business or become a teacher/instructor.

Apprenticeship: Metal Fabrication L6

Location:

Description:

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified metal fabricator, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Metal Fabrication.

You may then choose to work as a metal fabricator in industries such as constructional steel; pressure vessels; tank and boiler manufacture; ship building and ship repair; and general engineering.
