Sprayer test requirements
FTMTA has circulated members with details of the requirements for a sprayer to pass the test, which has been introduced by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Directive.
Under the implementation of this directive in Ireland, all boom sprayers greater than 3m and all blast and orchard sprayers must be tested by a DAFM-registered inspector of pesticide application equipment at least once by 26 November 2016. Only equipment having passed such a test will be allowed to continue in use.
The association is asking that members with concerns about test requirements forward details of their concerns to Michael Fahy at membership@ftmta.ie. Any member who did not receive the email with the details of the test requirements and who wishes to receive this information should contact Michael at the above email address or at 045-409 309.
