Seamie Weldon Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The Ardee Athletic Club recently held a race in honour of the late Seamie Weldon which was hugely successful with in excess of 460 competitors. The event was a fitting tribute to Seamie who spent a lifetime developing and promoting athletics in Ardee and beyond. Legendary Irish athlete Sonia O’Sullivan honoured the event with her presence.
The main sponsors of the event were P.J. Callan Ltd. of Ardee where Seamie was employed for over 20 years as a Sales Representative. Seamie was well known and highly respected in both the farming and athletic community.
