FTMTA Grass & Muck 2012 will take place at Gurteen Agricultural College, Ballingarry, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary on Thursday, May 17th. Despite the recent spell of unsettled weather the site is in good condition with a good crop of grass present.Over 80 exhibitors have booked space at the event and will have stands either on grass demonstration plots or in the dedicated trade stand area which is at the centre of the grass demonstration plots. Demonstrations of various types and brands of silage making equipment will be conducted by 19 firms on 65 acres of grass with a number of loader brands demonstrating at the silage pit. There will be 10 exhibitors demonstrating a variety of slurry and dung spreading equipment on maize stubble and grass ground with a number of other firms demonstrating reseeding equipment on a plot of tilled ground.

Nearly all of the major international and national brands of silage making, reseeding and slurry / farmyard manure spreading machinery will demonstrate at FTMTA Grass & Muck 2012.This is a unique opportunity to see a wide range of the latest technologies in silage and grass management machinery in operation in Ireland. Visitor numbers are expected to exceed the 7,500 seen in 2010.

The Gurteen College site is very centrally located and is accessed from the N52 between Birr and Nenagh. Ample parking will be provided adjacent to the site and while there is a parking charge of €20 per car there is no further charge for admission to the event. The organisers are encouraging car sharing between those travelling to the event. Local Gardai have advised that a no parking zone on access roads will be strictly enforced with a tow away policy on the day. National access to the site will primarily be from the Nenagh and Birr directions and a one way system will be in force on the access road to the college.The event will open to the public at 10am and the event will conclude at 5pm.A variety of catering options will be provided on site.

On the site, safety is the watchword and visitors are asked to take heed of the fact that FTMTA Grass & Muck 2012 is a working machinery demonstration and to comply with the instructions of safety officers and stewards.
