Thomas Dunne of Bunclody, Co. Wexford, received an award for Excellence on the Higher Certificate in Engineering In Agricultural Mechanisation from the FTMTA at the recent Limerick IT conferring ceremony. The award was presented by Conor McGuinness of the FTMTA in relation to Thomas’s project as part of his studies on the joint LIT / Pallaskenry Agricultural College course during which he designed and manufactured a hydraulic bale handler. Thomas completed his 30 week industrial placement with, FTMTA member firm, Kellys of Borris during which he got a range of experience in the workshop, stores and as a demonstrator. Having graduated from the Higher Certificate, Thomas is currently continuing his studies in University College Dublin.
