Samco a finalist in Ernst & Young awards
FTMTA member Samco Agriculture Manufacturing Ltd of Adare, Co Limerick is among 24 businesses in a number of sectors to advance to the finals of this year’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year awards. Samco is nominated in the international category and will be featured in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 programme on RTE 1 TV on Monday 14 October, at 8.30pm.
Samco has been in business for 16 years and has established export markets in country such as Britain, Canada, France, Italy, Chile, Japan and New Zealand; 90% of Samco’s production is now exported. Samco is not only a machine manufacturer; the firm also manufactures the degradable film for their system. The Samco team is preparing for a 30% increase in Production in 2014.
Cross Engineering beet event
FTMTA member Cross Agriculture engineering Ltd will host a beet information event and open days on a site adjacent to its factory in Rathangan, Co Kildare, on Saturday, and Sunday, 12 and 13 October, from 10am to 5pm on both days
Cross is the only manufacturer of sugar beet washers in Ireland and has undertaken comprehensive sugar beet field trails during 2013 in conjunction with Goldcrop
