The Association is finalising the panel of speakers for this year’s FTMTA Annual Conference for the farm machinery industry, “Towards a Sustainable and Professional Farm Machinery Industry”, to be held on November 24th in Portlaoise.The conference is a daylong event and is open to both member and non member firms of the FTMTA active within the farm machinery industry.

A panel of expert speakers will address topics of topical and practical relevance in the management of a farm machinery business, with opportunities for questions and answers at the end of each presentation. The confirmed speakers to date are:

Speakers

  • Mr. Edward Stephenson, Agricultural Division Sales Manager, North England, Scotland & Ireland, John Deere Ltd, will speak on “Precision farming and its impact on supporting a professional and sustainable farm machinery business”.
  • Mr., Bobby Kerr, Chairman of Insomnia Coffee, is well known from RTE’s Dragons’ Den and also presents ‘Down to Business’ a Sunday breakfast business show on Newstalk Radio.
  • Mr. Eamonn Dillon, Solicitor, will speak in relation to contractual and warranty obligations in the sale of farm machinery.
  • Jack Murray, Managing Director of Mediacontact.ie, one of Ireland’s leading social media training companies, will address how the use of social media tools can enhance the performance of a business; help to communicate more clearly with customers, and increase turnover and profits.
  • Mr. Jim O’Hara, O’Hara Dolan & Co, Taxation Consultants, will speak on the importance of succession planning and managing the tax implications that arise.
  • Mr. Matt Dempsey, Editor of the Irish Farmers Journal, will speak on the progress towards the Food Harvest 2020 goals and the new CAP proposals
