Irish Agricultural New Tractor Registrations – October 2025
Month: 95 Units +61% change (compared with October 2024)

The latest FTMTA Statistics Service Report for October 2025 shows the current level of vehicle registration activity in the farm machinery sector in Ireland. The numbers of
imported new tractors, registered for the first time in Ireland, increased compared with the same month of October 2024, the year-to-date market showed a 14% increase.

Tractors

The October 2025 new tractor market at 95 units was 61% higher compared with the same month in 2024, while the 2025 year-to-date new tractor registration moving total figure is 14% higher at 2,016 units compared with 1,774 units, for the first ten months of 2024. In Ireland, County Cork continued to deliver the highest number of new tractor registrations at 290 units for the year-to-date, while Tipperary was ranked in second place with 191 units followed by Wexford, at 118 units.
Two power bands, 121hp to 140hp and the 161hp to 200hp category, each accounted for 21.05% of all new tractor registrations for the month. The 161hp to 200hp category is the most popular power band in the year-to-date and accounted for 24.8% of all new tractor registrations in 2025. The over 200hp category slipped slightly to 11.9% of all new tractors for the year-to-date. The monthly average tractor horsepower figure for October 2025 was 127hp, and the largest tractor registered was rated at 280hp. The FTMTA data shows that 252 imported used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland in October 2025, 29 more units than in October 2024, while the year-to-date used tractor registration figure at 2,448 units was 113 units more than was registered for the first ten months of 2024.

Telescopic Loaders

The Irish market for new telescopic loaders reported an 106% increase in October 2025 at 60 units, compared with October 2024. The latest FTMTA data showed new telescopic registrations for the year-to-date increased by 23% to 711 units compared with the same ten months of 2024 when 578 units were registered. The two leading brands Manitou and JCB accounted for 72% of the total market. There were 62 imported used telescopic loaders registered in October 2025 up from 50 in October 2024.

Wheeled Loaders

The Irish wheeled loader market recorded an increased number of new registrations in October 2025 at 15 units compared with October 2024 at 9 units, which was a market increase of 40%. There were 176 new wheeled loaders registered in Ireland for the first ten months of 2025. There were 8 imported used wheeled loaders registered in October 2025 compared with 3 in October 2024.

Backhoe Loaders

The Irish backhoe loader market was unchanged in October 2025 compared with October 2024 with 1 new machine registered. There were 3 used backhoe loaders registered in October 2025 in Ireland. For the period from January to October 2025 there were 49 new backhoe loaders registered in Ireland compared with 51 in the first ten months of 2024.

UTV Registrations

There were 44 new UTV’s registered in Ireland in October 2025, compared with 15 in October 2024. For the year to date there were 246 new UTV’s registered in Ireland compared with 265 for the first ten months of 2024, a 7% year-to-date decline. There were 9 used imported UTV registered for the first time in October 2025 and for the first ten months of 2025 there were 34 used UTV imports.
