The Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) marked a significant milestone this week with the successful launch of our Economic Report on the Value of the Farm Machinery Industry in Ireland. The event took place in the elegant surroundings of the Merrion Hotel, Dublin, and brought together a broad cross-section of the sector—including agricultural representatives, council members, and industry contributors who provided case studies and insights for the report.
Developed in partnership with ifac, this first-of-its-kind report provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic contribution of Ireland’s farm machinery sector. For the Association, it represents a proud moment for the Association and a significant milestone that clearly highlights the true value of our industry.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Karol Kissane, Jamie Leonard, and Maura O’Callaghan of ifac for their expertise, support, and collaboration throughout the development of this publication.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to the FTMTA members who shared valuable insights and case studies, enriching the report with real-world context. We are equally grateful to our council members for their ongoing leadership and support in shaping the direction of this project.
A special word of recognition is owed to FTMTA President Maurice Kelly and Executive Director Michael Farrelly, whose commitment and vision ensured this landmark report came to life.
With the farm machinery sector now valued at almost €5 billion, the findings place our industry within reach of Ireland’s international tourism sector, valued at €6.2 billion in 2024. This publication not only highlights the scale and impact of the industry today but also underscores its significant potential for future growth.
