Irish Agricultural New Tractor Registrations – June 2025

Month: 52 Units -13% change (compared with June 2024)

The latest FTMTA Statistics Service Report for June 2025 shows the current level of vehicle registration activity in the farm machinery sector in Ireland. While the numbers of imported new tractors, registered for the first time in Ireland, reduced compared with the same month of June 2024, the year-to-date market showed a 3% increase.

Tractors

The June 2025 new tractor market at 52 units was 13% lower compared with the same month in 2024, while the year-to-date 2025 new tractor registration moving total figure is 3% higher at 1,326 units compared with 1,290 units for the first six months of 2024.

In Ireland, County Cork continued to deliver the highest number of new tractor registrations at 205 units for the year-to-date, while Tipperary was ranked in second place with 129 units followed by Galway, at 73 units.

The most popular power band for June 2025 was the 161hp to 200hp category, which accounted for 23.08% of all new tractor registrations for the month. This is the most popular power band in the year to date and accounted for 25.72% of all new tractor registrations in 2025. The over 200hp category remained stable at 12.1% of all new tractors for the year-to-date. The monthly average tractor horsepower figure for June 2025 was 147hp, and the largest tractor registered was rated at 370hp.

The FTMTA data shows that 236 imported used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland in June 2025, 34 more units than in June 2024, while the year-to-date used tractor registration figure at 1,495 units was 56 units more than was registered for the first six months of 2024.

Telescopic Loaders

The Irish market for new telescopic loaders reported a 7.14% increase in June 2025 at 15 units, compared with June 2024. The latest FTMTA data showed new telescopic registrations for the year-to-date increased by 13% to 434 units compared with the same six months of 2024 when 384 units were registered. The two leading brands Manitou and JCB accounted for 74% of the total market, while Kramer market share has increased to almost 9.45%. There were 48 imported used telescopic loaders registered in June 2025 significantly up from 29 in June 2024.

Wheeled Loaders

The Irish wheeled loader market recorded a reduced number of new registrations in June 2025 at 5 units compared with June 2024 at 8 units, which was a market decrease of 60%. There were just 3 imported used wheeled loaders registered in June 2025 compared with one in June 2024.

Backhoe Loaders

The Irish backhoe loader market increased in June 2025 compared with June 2024 with just 2 new machines registered. There were 11 used backhoe loaders registered in June 2025 in Ireland. For the period from January to June 2025 there were 29 new backhoe loaders registered in Ireland compared with 32 in the first six months of 2024.

UTV Registrations

There were 16 new UTV’s registered in Ireland in June 2025, compared with 18 in June 2024. For the year to date there were 131 new UTV’s registered in Ireland compared with 213 for the first six months of 2024, a 38% year-to-date decline. There were four used imported UTV registered for the first time in June 2025. For the first six months of 2025 there were 131 new UTV’s registered in Ireland and 15 used imports.

Self-Propelled Silage Harvesters (SPFH’s) Registrations

There were 47 new self-propelled silage harvesters (SPFH’s) registered in Ireland in first six months of 2025, compared with 34 for the full year of 2024, a 35% year-to-date increase, with just two used imported SPFH’s registered for the first time up the end of June 2025
