His family background as Agricultural Contractors has also added to his experience and deep understanding of the requirements of today’s machinery users.   Focusing on the future, Derek is very much committed to encouraging the next generations to enter the industry and to guide those who have a keen interest to pursue a career within the Farm Machinery sector. Being part of a Global company with LEMKEN, Derek has been able to create opportunities for people to travel with him to other regions and believes that sharing knowledge and understanding of farming systems will benefit Irish machinery users.

Derek Delahunty has over 25 years’ experience in the farm machinery industry.  Starting his career as an Agricultural Mechanic with a well-established local dealer.  His drive and enthusiasm has taken him right through to today where he is a well-known figure in the industry and for the past 12 years been the driving force behind LEMKEN in Ireland.

Prior to his current role as Area Sales Manager with LEMKEN, Derek has gained vast experience and knowledge working with Farm Machinery dealers and related businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
