Our Team
The Executive Council is a vital part of the Association and everyone participates on a voluntary basis. There is an understanding that having a strong association is vital for the industry. The benefit of being on Council is that you will always be at the cutting edge of what is happening in the industry. Executive Council must meet a minimum of 9 times per year but usually meet on a monthly basis. These meetings are held at the FTMTA offices in Nass and at various locations nationwide to ensure that Executive Council members share the burden of travelling to these meetings equally. Meetings can be held remotely if public health concerns dictate but we prefer to hold them in person.
The President chairs these meetings and Executive Council members discuss issues that affect their sector of the industry. They feed information to the Executive Director and help form policy that will then be implemented by the Executive Director. The Executive Director will also update members on what the Association is dealing with at that moment. Issues covered include day to day issues with running the Association, legislative changes that may affect the industry, trade issues such as Brexit, import and export, human resource, legal issues and anything else that has arisen for our members.
Management committee deal with the day-to-day running of the association such as setting budgets and ensuring the financial stability of the organization. They meet on a regular basis and are in constant contact with the Executive Director. The President or Vice President would attend meetings and events where it was deemed necessary for the Association to be officially represented.
